Evolution of a stable polymorphism

Welcome to Evo2Sim's simulation viewer.
In this example, a population is evolved in a periodic environment mimicking a batch culture setup. A stable polymorphism emerges, where one ecotype feeds on the exogenous nutrients and releases by-products, while a second ecotype feeds on the by-products. Thanks to the seasonality of the environment, this interaction is negative frequency-dependent, and stable.
Evo2Sim's viewer provides the user with detailed insights, at the level of the individual, the population, the environment and the phylogeny. You can for example check the tab "Phylogeny" to vizualize the diversification event which occured in this simulation. As another example, you can also vizualize trophic relationship inside the population in the tab "Population".
